FLINT, MI – Financial Plus Credit Union employees came together to handcraft greeting cards for local hospital and nursing home patients. Many of these patients are unable to see their loved ones due to the COVID-19 pandemic and facility restrictions.
“During these difficult times, we all need a reason to smile, especially those who are currently living in a nursing home or a hospital patient. Many are isolated and unable to receive visitors, which is heartbreaking and so difficult for loved ones. Our employees are very caring and wanted to make a difference by donating their time to let these community members know we are thinking about them,” said Olga Long, Vice President of Strategic Growth and Marketing
Crafting stations were assembled at each Financial Plus branch location where employees volunteered during their lunch and break times to decorate the greeting cards. The cards were delivered to the following local nursing homes and hospitals: Hurley Medical Center, Springvale Assisted Living, Americana Seniors, Nightingale Retreat, and Covenant Medical Center.
