Financial Plus Credit Union Presents Automated External Defibrillator to Whaley Children’s Center at London Strong’s “Set Your Dreams” 5k

July 28, 2026

FLINT, MI – Financial Plus Credit Union proudly joined more than 600 community members in supporting the 9th Annual London Strong "Set Your Dreams" 5K Run/Walk, held at Creasey Bicentennial Park in Grand Blanc. As an annual partner of the London Strong Foundation, Financial Plus sponsored an automated external defibrillator (AED) that was presented to Whaley Children’s Center during the event.

The annual event honors the life and legacy of London Eisenbeis, who tragically passed away from sudden cardiac arrest in 2018 at the age of 10. Through events like the 5K, the London Strong Foundation raises awareness for heart health and provides AEDs to local organizations, helping create safer communities throughout the region.

“We are deeply grateful for the incredible support of our community and valued partners, including Financial Plus Credit Union. The generosity of our sponsors, dedication of our volunteers, and enthusiasm of every participant continue to make a lasting impact. Together, you are helping us provide and place lifesaving AEDs throughout our community. Every sponsor, volunteer, runner and donor has become part of London’s legacy. Together we are not only honoring her memory… we are helping to save lives,” said Tina Eisenbeis, London’s mother and Founder of the London Strong Foundation.

"The London Strong Foundation has transformed unimaginable loss into a mission that continues to save lives, and we're honored to play a small part in that work," said Ciara Vendettilli, Community Impact Manager at Financial Plus Credit Union. "Presenting this AED to Whaley Children's Center is so special, and we're proud to support organizations that are creating safer, stronger communities while honoring London's legacy."

Based in Flint, Whaley Children’s Center provides trauma-informed residential care, education, mental health services, and independent living support for children and teens who have experienced severe abuse or neglect. The donated AED will provide an added layer of safety for the children, staff, and visitors at the center.
